Xel-Ha

So Xel-Ha is incredible, in case you can't tell!! Xel-Ha is a natural inlet just over an hour south of Cancun that they've turned it into a Caribbean adventure park. It really is the coolest place, I would highly recommend it! Entrance is a little expensive, but totally worth it! It's all you can eat and drink (yay for virgin strawberry daiquiris and pina coladas!)  all day at the park's five restaurants, PLUS....you get to do so many cool activities ! They have  swimming with dolphins (which sadly we didn't do because it costs extra), snorkeling galore, cenotes to swim in, underwater caves, hammocks everywhere to just relax and enjoy how beautiful it is, a floating bridge so you can walk across the inlet right on the water, rope bridges you can climb across, places to cliff jump, tubes so you can float the river into the inlet, zip lining, a place to see/swim with matinees, etc. It's basically everything you could ever want! We spent an entire day there, and it was very probably our very favorite day of the trip.

Tulum

Oh. Wow. This place was incredible! Though the pictures do the best job of explaining it, here is a short description. Tulum is an ancient Mayan walled city. Short enough description? :)
Good, we'll let the pictures tell the rest.

It's Time!

Alright alright, it's time to start with the Caribbean honeymoon posts :)

So...I have a trillion pictures and I decided there's really only one way to put them up here....and that is one post at a time based on the places we went. So.....for today's post I'm putting up some pictures I took out the window while traveling to and from Cancun. Here goes!

This was just a beautiful sky we saw while flying somewhere over the gulf of Mexico on our way there

This is what it looked when we were flying out of Cancun.......Gorgeous! The sunset behind is the reason for the orage wings.....and no, the orange isn't photoshopped at all even though it looks like it. The little island you see is Isla Mujeres, a small island straight off the coast of Cancun
This is one view of the sunset before it got really intense......
and this is after it got intense! Isn't it INCREDIBLE!!!!!

alright, well stay tuned for the next post.....Tulum!

Sky

Alright, so Ben and I were out mattress shopping on MLK Day and we saw the most incredible skies! Every two minutes we'd look and it would be different! I'm sad I didn't get more pictures than I did...but I was driving :) There was a storm coming in from the north so that brought dark clouds but then the light was bouncing in incredible ways and causing spots of white and every color in between. There were at least 10 different kinds of clouds in the sky...the variety of texture and color combined was breathtaking! Also, after a while the sun set.....and HOLY SMOKES! every second was incredible, and every second different. It was like having 10 separate sunsets in one night! Sadly, by the time I could take a picture of the sun set I was in a parking lot on State Street in Pleasant Grove so there were signs and buildings and power lines galore. The picture is cluttered but you'll get the idea at least. I wish I had been sitting in an open field somewhere so I could have caught all of the sunset's different phases!

This one is SOOC (straight out of camera)...no editing at all. Isn't the color so rich and gorgeous? Stupid sign, I couldn't get a picture minus clutter.
